BFF Adventures: No More Candy

Grammy's party animals had one more Halloween party this weekend and it really put them over the edge!
"I will never eat sugar again," grumbled DeeDee.
"Neither will I, my tummy feels wretched!" moaned Emily.

"Inkpot, you're lucky you don't know what candy is!" Caroline told her sweet kitty.

"All I want to do is lay here. Sugar just makes me feel all sleepy." yawned Anna.

Grammy told the girls she wanted just one last group photo then they must brush their teeth and go right to bed. It took every last drop of energy in these girls to pose for the photo.
The moral of the story is:
Don't Eat Too Much Sugar!!

A Cozy Halloween

While the BFFs were trick-or-treating the rest of my girls wanted to have a more calm and quiet Halloween inside.
Felicity had just come home from studying at the library.
"There are already trick-or-treaters out," she stated.

Rebecca was rehearsing her lines for an up coming play she is staring in.
"I know, it's a good thing we decided to stay in so we could pass out candy. There has been a few groups come by so far," commented Rebecca.

Kirsten was baking pumpkin muffins.
KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK
"I'll get it this time!" Kirsten said as she wiped her hands on her apron and scurried to the door.

Samantha was relaxing in the parlor enjoying the calming music Addy played on her violin.
"You are so talented Addy!" she complemented.

"Oh thank you," Addy blushed.
"Indeed! You really have a natural talent; play another song for us!" Kirsten begged as she walked back to the kitchen.

"Actually all these trick-or-treaters make me want to put on our old Halloween hats and masks just for fun," Addy said.

"I love my mask, it's so glamorous!"
Addy called Felicity and Rebecca into the parlor to come play in their masks.

"I love dress up and I love parlor games! Do you want to play Yes and No?" suggest Rebecca.
"Great idea! Anybody want some popcorn?" asked Felicity hidden behind her jack-o-lantern mask.

"YES to that question!" Addy giggled helping herself to a handful.
"Now Rebecca is what you are thinking of a man?"
"Yes"
"A kind man?"
"No"
"Does he have anything to do with Halloween?"
"Yes!"
"Is he scary?"
"Yessssssss," she hisses theatrically.
The questions went on and on and the description of the mystery scary man became more and more terrifying.

"I'm too scared to ask anymore questions!" Kirsten trembled.
"It's ok Kirsten, besides I think I've got the answer! Is it the Headless Horseman?"
"YES!!!" Rebecca belted out, giving the girls one last scare.

What fun the girls had on this cozy fall evening! :)
How did you celebrate Halloween this year?

BFF Adventures: Trick-or-Treating

"Hey everyone! We are here!!" belted out Molly as she came clip clopping into Grammy's with Kaya.
"Molly, why are you wearing our tap outfit?" asked DeeDee.
"Well DeeDee I am not just your average tap dancer tonight!... I am a Rockette!!" replied Molly waving her jazz hands around.
"And Kaya you must be a spooky Halloween girl !" said Emily.
"That's right, a spooky Halloween girl that is VERY excited to go trick-or-treating!" said Kaya.

"Wait before we go out, look at your party favors!" Anna insisted.
Each girl got a surprise party favor box filled with candy and a cool Halloween decoration they get to color themselves.

Grammy called the girls to go outside for a group photo before they hit the town collecting gobs of candy.

An adorable Cinderella, Rockette, Sleeping Beauty, Spooky Girl, Minnie Mouse, and Snow White were more than ready. "LET'S GO!!!!" hollered DeeDee.

The girls had gone up and down the streets of Grammy's neighborhood until their arms ached from carrying their loaded candy buckets.
Once back at Grammy's they dumped their buckets out to count, sort, and swap their candy.
"Hey did anybody get any dark chocolate?" DeeDee shouted as she stood on the chair to peek over the girls.
"I've got a dark chocolate MilkyWay; wanna trade for a Twix?" Molly offered.

Grammy wanted to do a few more group photos...
Just the Princesses....

...And now the others...
...But everyone, even calm quiet Emily, was just too stirred up from all the sugar....

...And things got a little wild for a moment!
"WEEEEEE!!!! CANDYYYYYYYYY!!!!"

It took a while before the little monsters came down from their sugar high. By that time Molly and Kaya needed to get back home.
"What a fun time, I'm so glad we got to come over to trick-or-treat," said Kaya.
"I wish everyday was Halloween," added Anna.

BFF Adventures: Halloween Afternoon

It was Halloween afternoon and the BFFs had just come home from a  fun filled school day. It was a good time to just chill out until dinner and trick-or-treating.

Caroline, Anna, DeeDee, and Emily were anxiously waiting for the rest of holiday's festivities.

"I really like my witchy outfit but I can't wait to put on my real Halloween costume!" said Caroline trembling with excitement.

"Me too! And I can't wait to eat Grammy's yummy chili!" added Anna licking her lips.

"I can't wait for the other girls to get here so we can see their costumes!" exclaimed Emily as she set up a game to play while they waited.

"And I can't wait for CANDY!!!!" shouted DeeDee.

The table was set and ready for our traditional Halloween dinner: CHILI!

A little surprise treat was left in each of the chili bowls!

"Well I think it's getting to be time for us to get on our costumes," suggested Caroline.
"Oh boy!"
"Let's do it!"
"Yay, it's finally time!!" Agreed the others

Stay tuned to see what other tricks, treats, and spooky fun we have on Halloween!
Until then...
Have a safe and spectacularly scary Halloween!!!
ooooOOOooOOOOooooooOOOOoooo :)

BFF Adventures: Emily's and Caroline's Birthday Party

Emily and Caroline are both Fall babies and shared a simple birthday party together.
My mom's girls put together a really nice Italian dinner to share with their dear friends Kaya and Molly!

They set the table with very festive dishes and an awesome chocolate cake sat tempting everyone in the center of the table!

Mom wanted me to point out that she has an actual antique tea set that looks almost exactly like "Molly's". Cool huh!!

Caroline, Anna, DeeDee, and Emily sat excitedly waiting for their guests.

Kaya and Molly came in to see all the excitement!
"Happy Birthday!" Molly bursted!
"Wow look at all that food!" exclaimed Kaya.

"Yay you're here!"
"Let the party begin!" Cheered the birthday girls.

After hugs were given all around the girls grabbed a plate and dipped up some delicious lasagna and garlic bread.

"This looks so yummy! Let's say grace so we can eat!!!!" said Caroline.

"That was delicious, I'm going back for seconds!" said DeeDee. "Does anybody want anything while I'm up?"
"No thanks I'm saving room for cake!" replied Anna.

Once the girls' bellies were full they cleared the table, lit the birthday candles and sang to Emily and Caroline. Then started passing out sherbet and slices of cake!

The girls played together for a little while after gobbling down dinner and dessert but it was a school night so Kaya and Molly couldn't stay late.  As party favors each girl got to take home a balloon and a brownie!

My other girls weren't able to go to the party because they had homework and other activities they had to do. However, my mom was nice enough to send home party favors for each of them and left over lasagna too!!
"Thanks Grammy for the balloons, brownies, and lasagna!
And
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY AND CAROLINE
WE LOVE YOU BOTH VERY MUCH!!!!!!

BFF Adventures: First Day of School

It was the first day of school and Caroline was the first awake in the house. Molly had spent the night and laid in her sleeping bag fast asleep even after Caroline had gotten out of bed and made it. Molly didn't even stir. Inkpot walked over Molly and licked her face. Molly didn't stir.
"Molly, it's time to wake up for school," whispered Caroline nudging Molly.
Finally Molly stirred but only to mumble some nonsense then fell right back to sleep.

Meanwhile DeeDee and Emily had gotten up and were talking about how excited they were to wear their new back to school clothes.
"I'm so glad you like to wear coordinating outfits with my Emily," said DeeDee.
"Me too DeeDee of course you know I loved how the royal princesses always wore matching outfits," replied Emily.

Anna is our newest friend (we will be doing a "Welcome Anna" post soonish). While she ironed her back to school outfit she was thinking about starting at a new school. She felt a little nervous but also relieved that she has such good friends to go to school with!

The girls met at the breakfast table but someone was missing?
"Where is Molly?"
"She wouldn't wake up." replied Caroline.
Just then they heard a loud yelp followed by giggles....

Molly finally pulled herself out of bed and dragged herself to the dressing table, rubbed her sleepy eyes to find an alarming refection!
"YIKES!! That is some crazy hair!!"

"Finally you're up Molly! We were waiting for you!"
"Sorry everyone it's so hard to wake up this early since I got to sleep late everyday this summer. Guess I should have started waking up early a week ago to get use to it."
"Don't worry you'll get back into the routine in no time," Emily said. "So why were you yelling and laughing?"
"Oh, because my bangs were standing straight up!"
"Well they look better now, for goodness sakes you can't start the school year with a bad hair day!" Laughed DeeDee.
The girls all giggled as they ate their donuts and fruit shish kabobs. Then it was time to put on their new outfits!

DeeDee got ready quickly and offered to help everyone pack their lunches.
Healthy sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, and a little something sweet. In each box she added a sweet note wishing them a good first day.

Molly was concerned about Math. Her grades in math last year weren't as good as she'd like.
"Hey Emily will you practice math with me really quick?"

"That's a great idea Molly! You never know, maybe the teacher will give us a pop quiz! Best to always be ready with a strong, intelligent, and clear mind!!"
Emily and Molly quizzed each other until they heard Anna calling out to everyone...

"Ok girls it's time to gather our things up-- the bus will be here soon and Grammy wants to do some group photos!" Anna called out.

"Inkpot I'm going to miss you so much today! I have loved being able to snuggle and play with you all the time this summer." Caroline had a heavy heart thinking about leaving Inkpot all day but then she heard DeeDee bounding merrily out in the hallway...

"Come on girls lets go! I can't wait to get to school so I can see all my friends!!" said a very bubbly DeeDee.

"DeeDee how do you have so much energy this early?" grumbled a still groggy Molly.

The girls were feeling a mixed bag of emotions-- excited, anxious, sleepy, hyper, but mostly thankful!

Thankful to have fabulous back to school clothes...

And even more thankful for terrific best friends to go to school with!!!!!
Happy Back to School Time!!
We hope your year has been going smoothly for you!!
