A Moment of Mourning Molly

Kirsten and Molly offered to help me decorate the rest of my apartment while the other girls worked on their little home.
"Look at this little patriotic snowman! Isn't he charming Molly?" giggled Kirsten as she handed the ornament to Molly.

"Yeah he's pretty cute, I guess," sighed Molly.

"Molly, I hope you don't mind me asking, but I noticed you're not yourself today. Are you okay?"
Molly looked down at her feet as tears welled up in her soft grey eyes then she burst out "I'm getting sad thinking about the end of the year coming because they are going to archive the Mollys and Emilys at American Girl. And I'm the only original American Girl left! Next year no little girls are going to be able to get a Molly or Emily for Christmas. I'm just so upset about it!"

"Oh Molly, I understand. I went through the same feelings when the Kirstens were archived, as did Samantha and Felicity. There there Molly." Kirsten continued to console Molly until her sobbing slowed.
"It's going to be ok Molly, just think of all the girls Molly and Emily have brought joy to over all these years. You have been very loved! And although it's hard, try to remember that things have to change sometimes. This will allow American Girl to create new friends for girls; won't that be exciting!? It's ok to be sad now but don't let it ruin the best time of the year."

Kirsten gently brushed Molly's tears from her wet cheeks and turned her towards the tree "Look at this jolly little tree. We need to finish this task at hand for Lissy."
"You're right Kirsten. I do love Christmas time and the tree is beginning to look very cheery," Molly sniffed. "Kirsten do you think they will ever bring back any of the archived dolls?"

"I do hope so, Molly. What a happy reunion that would be!" Kirsten replied warmly.

All the ornaments were hung on the merry little tree. By that time Molly was cheering up and trying to change her perspective.

"Kirsten, Thank you for helping me feel better. You are a good friend," said Molly.
Kirsten took Molly's hand as they sat beside the freshly decorated tree, "Molly, I am happy to help anytime and I know Samantha and Felicity would be more than whiling to talk to you more about how you're feeling, and they will completely understand."
"Well, one thing that does make me feel jolly is that Lissy and Grammy got to bring home a Molly and Emily before it was too late!" added Molly.
"And we are glad for that too," agreed Kirsten.

How are you feeling about Molly and Emily getting archived?
I know my mom and I are really sad but VERY thankful we were able to have our own.
We will never forget the special day Molly and Emily came to live with us. If you'd like to see my post about that special day then click HERE.

Decorating for Christmas

Most People didn't start decorating for Christmas until this past weekend but in our house we love Christmas so much that we start the day after Halloween.

That's right as soon as Halloween ends the fall decor gets packed up and out comes CHRISTMAS!!!

Here comes Kaya with a fresh cut tree from the woods

"Help! It's heavy!"
"PUSSSSHHHHH!"

"It would have been easier to pull the sled if there was snow, but I guess it's a little early for that type of weather," joked Rebecca.

Felicity unfolds the tree skirt underneath as Samantha and Rebecca begin unloading one of the decoration boxes.

The angel goes on first... easy does it Samantha!

"No! No! Nudge, give me that ornament!" Samantha scolded the rascally kitten.

Rebecca loves setting up her Hanukkah decorations amongst the Christmas decor.
"Let's play dreidel later!"

Kaya and Addy worked on the bedroom and kitchen decorations

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

"Hey come help me in my room!" called out Felicity.

"Awe look at the sweet little lion and lamb! Here is a perfect place for them on the shelve next to Santa," Addy said as she helped Felicity in her room.

"Looks great, Thanks Addy!"

As things were getting finished up Kaya, Addy, and Felicity started putting out some festive treats to munch on. YUM!!

"Rebecca we need some Christmas music!" requested Samantha.
"Of course! I have the perfect record! Oh hello Nudge, you must be excited it's Christmas time too!"

Finally everything was perfect and it was time to sit back and enjoy their beautifully decorated home.
When do you start decorating for Christmas?

BFF Adventures: No More Candy

Grammy's party animals had one more Halloween party this weekend and it really put them over the edge!
"I will never eat sugar again," grumbled DeeDee.
"Neither will I, my tummy feels wretched!" moaned Emily.

"Inkpot, you're lucky you don't know what candy is!" Caroline told her sweet kitty.

"All I want to do is lay here. Sugar just makes me feel all sleepy." yawned Anna.

Grammy told the girls she wanted just one last group photo then they must brush their teeth and go right to bed. It took every last drop of energy in these girls to pose for the photo.
The moral of the story is:
Don't Eat Too Much Sugar!!

A Cozy Halloween

While the BFFs were trick-or-treating the rest of my girls wanted to have a more calm and quiet Halloween inside.
Felicity had just come home from studying at the library.
"There are already trick-or-treaters out," she stated.

Rebecca was rehearsing her lines for an up coming play she is staring in.
"I know, it's a good thing we decided to stay in so we could pass out candy. There has been a few groups come by so far," commented Rebecca.

Kirsten was baking pumpkin muffins.
KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK
"I'll get it this time!" Kirsten said as she wiped her hands on her apron and scurried to the door.

Samantha was relaxing in the parlor enjoying the calming music Addy played on her violin.
"You are so talented Addy!" she complemented.

"Oh thank you," Addy blushed.
"Indeed! You really have a natural talent; play another song for us!" Kirsten begged as she walked back to the kitchen.

"Actually all these trick-or-treaters make me want to put on our old Halloween hats and masks just for fun," Addy said.

"I love my mask, it's so glamorous!"
Addy called Felicity and Rebecca into the parlor to come play in their masks.

"I love dress up and I love parlor games! Do you want to play Yes and No?" suggest Rebecca.
"Great idea! Anybody want some popcorn?" asked Felicity hidden behind her jack-o-lantern mask.

"YES to that question!" Addy giggled helping herself to a handful.
"Now Rebecca is what you are thinking of a man?"
"Yes"
"A kind man?"
"No"
"Does he have anything to do with Halloween?"
"Yes!"
"Is he scary?"
"Yessssssss," she hisses theatrically.
The questions went on and on and the description of the mystery scary man became more and more terrifying.

"I'm too scared to ask anymore questions!" Kirsten trembled.
"It's ok Kirsten, besides I think I've got the answer! Is it the Headless Horseman?"
"YES!!!" Rebecca belted out, giving the girls one last scare.

What fun the girls had on this cozy fall evening! :)
How did you celebrate Halloween this year?

BFF Adventures: Trick-or-Treating

"Hey everyone! We are here!!" belted out Molly as she came clip clopping into Grammy's with Kaya.
"Molly, why are you wearing our tap outfit?" asked DeeDee.
"Well DeeDee I am not just your average tap dancer tonight!... I am a Rockette!!" replied Molly waving her jazz hands around.
"And Kaya you must be a spooky Halloween girl !" said Emily.
"That's right, a spooky Halloween girl that is VERY excited to go trick-or-treating!" said Kaya.

"Wait before we go out, look at your party favors!" Anna insisted.
Each girl got a surprise party favor box filled with candy and a cool Halloween decoration they get to color themselves.

Grammy called the girls to go outside for a group photo before they hit the town collecting gobs of candy.

An adorable Cinderella, Rockette, Sleeping Beauty, Spooky Girl, Minnie Mouse, and Snow White were more than ready. "LET'S GO!!!!" hollered DeeDee.

The girls had gone up and down the streets of Grammy's neighborhood until their arms ached from carrying their loaded candy buckets.
Once back at Grammy's they dumped their buckets out to count, sort, and swap their candy.
"Hey did anybody get any dark chocolate?" DeeDee shouted as she stood on the chair to peek over the girls.
"I've got a dark chocolate MilkyWay; wanna trade for a Twix?" Molly offered.

Grammy wanted to do a few more group photos...
Just the Princesses....

...And now the others...
...But everyone, even calm quiet Emily, was just too stirred up from all the sugar....

...And things got a little wild for a moment!
"WEEEEEE!!!! CANDYYYYYYYYY!!!!"

It took a while before the little monsters came down from their sugar high. By that time Molly and Kaya needed to get back home.
"What a fun time, I'm so glad we got to come over to trick-or-treat," said Kaya.
"I wish everyday was Halloween," added Anna.

BFF Adventures: Halloween Afternoon

It was Halloween afternoon and the BFFs had just come home from a  fun filled school day. It was a good time to just chill out until dinner and trick-or-treating.

Caroline, Anna, DeeDee, and Emily were anxiously waiting for the rest of holiday's festivities.

"I really like my witchy outfit but I can't wait to put on my real Halloween costume!" said Caroline trembling with excitement.

"Me too! And I can't wait to eat Grammy's yummy chili!" added Anna licking her lips.

"I can't wait for the other girls to get here so we can see their costumes!" exclaimed Emily as she set up a game to play while they waited.

"And I can't wait for CANDY!!!!" shouted DeeDee.

The table was set and ready for our traditional Halloween dinner: CHILI!

A little surprise treat was left in each of the chili bowls!

"Well I think it's getting to be time for us to get on our costumes," suggested Caroline.
"Oh boy!"
"Let's do it!"
"Yay, it's finally time!!" Agreed the others

Stay tuned to see what other tricks, treats, and spooky fun we have on Halloween!
Until then...
Have a safe and spectacularly scary Halloween!!!
ooooOOOooOOOOooooooOOOOoooo :)
