BFF Adventures: Nurse Molly

Oh dear everybody at Grammy's house as come down with a bad case of strep throat!

The girls feel terrible and have to stay in bed. It's a pitiful and gloomy place!

"Have no fear Nurse Molly is here!"
Molly dreams of being a nurse when she grows up. She is a very good caretaker. She came to visit her poor sick friends and cheer them up. "I'm so sorry you all are under the weather. I've brought some fresh flowers and a bag of goodies!"
"Molly, I'm so happy to see you" Emily whispered, "and those flowers smell beautiful!"

"Molly you are such a good friend," said Caroline in a raspy voice. "What did you bring in your bag?"

"I brought things that are sure to make you feel better! First here are some magazines."

"Thank you! This will be fun to look at while we are resting!"

The girls flipped through there magazines quietly. Talking hurt their throat too much.

DeeDee slowly spoke up "My head aches too much to wear my glasses so I can't read right now."

Poor DeeDee. "I'm so sorry DeeDee. Well perhaps this will make you feel better. Felicity couldn't come visit because she is working on a big book report but she wanted me to bring her favorite book to read to you guys."

Molly read the sweet book in a soft gentle voice and showed each picture (just as a teacher would) while the girls laid peacefully in their cozy beds.

"I also brought a puzzle if you guys feel like you have the energy to sit up to do it."
"Goody, I love puzzles." Emily said in a very pitiful but excited voice.

As they were finishing the puzzle Molly brewed some herbal tea and sweetened each cup with honey to soothe the girls' raw throats.

Then she tucked the sickly girls into bed and gave them their medicine.
"Alright girls I should go now. Promise me you will keep resting, drink plenty of water, and take your medicine so you will feel better fast and then we can play together soon!"

"Yes Nurse Molly we promise," said the girls as they drifted off to sleep.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
In no time the girls were feeling all better!
The next time Molly visited they were back to their giggling, silly, and fun selves!
"MOLLY!" They cheered when she walked in. "We owe you a big thanks for taking such good care of us!" The girls were sitting on Caroline's bed and grabbed Molly to pulled her on top of them and give her a big snugly hug. :)
Now that they were feeling well things were back to normal. They had a fun time laughing and playing together.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 Molly imagined how the girls were feeling when they were sick -- uncomfortable, tired, sad, even lonely. Imagining how someone else feels is called empathy and it's an important thing to do when your friend needs you. Having empathy for a friend helps you to care for them because you will better understand what you can do to help them.  Molly bravely took a risk by going to the BFFs house when they were contagious and she selflessly chose to spend her time with her friends even though they were not very fun at the time but she didn't mind because she knew her friends needed her!

Being a good friend doesn't just mean your fun. You also need to remember to help your friends when they are in need. Taking care of each other and being there for each other in good times or bad-- that's what true friendship is all about!

BFF Adventures: Easter

Well it's almost May so I thought I ought to get this Easter post done finally LOL :D! Sorry for the delay!

Easter was lovely for the BFFs. They went to a beautiful church service in the morning then came back home for a some afternoon tea.
The table was set for them when they got there. Easter eggs had been left and a fruit tort as well! Could it have been the Easter Bunny???

DeeDee, Molly, Emily, and Caroline enjoyed some yummy treats in their beautiful Easter pastel dresses.

They got to use the Peter Rabbit tea set which was mine when I was little!

After tea they went into their room and saw that the Easter bunny had been there too!

Meatloaf could smell the candy and was very curious about the new stuffed animals.

This is our old friend Peter Rabbit. The Easter bunny brought treats for him too!

The girls gathered around in their room to play with their new Easter friends and share treats

We hope you had a lovely Easter and are enjoying all the beautiful miracles of Spring!
What a blessing this time of the year is!!!

BFF Adventures: A New Room!

Molly and Felicity visited Emily, DeeDee, and Caroline at my mom's the other day. As they sat down for tea Felicity was excited to see cake! "Cake! she exclaimed, "Is this for a special occasion?"
"Yes!" replied Caroline, "We have a surprise to show you! We are celebrating the fact that we have a new room and furniture!!"
The girls clapped their hands and bounced around all excitedly. "So today is our big reveal of our new rooms!" added DeeDee.
"As soon as we finish tea we will take you to see!" said Emily with a big enthusiastic smile.

The girls spent some quality time catching up and enjoying their tea and cake then Emily, DeeDee, and Caroline walked Molly and Felicity into their new rooms.

First Caroline showed her beautiful new canopy bed.

"Oh wow, it's like a princess bed!" said Molly.
"I have a canopy bed at home too!" added Felicity.

Next DeeDee flopped down on her new Jenny Lynn bed. "This one's mine!" She shouted.

"You know what's special about my bed?... It matches the baby furniture in Grammy's nursery. See here is the changing table that we now use as a bookshelf. And this Jenny Lynn changing table and the matching crib were Lissy's and her older brothers' when they were babies!"
"Jeepers! Grammy must have been so excited to find your bed DeeDee, which is a perfect match! That's so neat-o that she's kept this furniture all these years!" said Molly.

Then Molly turned toward Emily sitting on the trundle daybed. "So does this mean that the daybed is all yours now Emily?"

"Yes that's right-o! Except when you or Felicity sleepover then you'll have the trundle!"
"Cool!" belted out both Felicity and Molly.

"Oh and look at this!" Butted in DeeDee. "We also got this old fashioned washstand!"

"And there is the little palm cross we made last year on Palm Sunday," piped in Emily

"Then over here is our little sitting area," Caroline said as she lead them back towards the center of the room.

"This all looks great!" said Felicity.
"Yes and it's so cozy but you have lots of room to play too," agreed Molly.

 "Yeah we love it and we are so appreciative that Grammy did this for us."

"It feels more like a home now."

"Hey let's play dolls!" suggested DeeDee.

"I want to play with the puppies!" said Felicity as they all piled on top of her.

The girls continued playing and having a jolly time in their new little space.
