A Note from Lissy

I was playing in the woods back home in Virgina, year 1775, when I noticed a letter addressed to me at the foot of a tree.
I knew right away who it was from because this wasn't an ordinary tree. This tree is my portal for time traveling and sometimes Lissy and I send letters through it to each other.
I opened the envelop to find lovely stationary featuring a  beautiful portrait of me and inside it a photo of a young Lissy.
The letter was rather lengthy but I knew it was important because on the back of the envelop Lissy wrote "SHARE ON THE BLOG".

Dear Readers,
     I wanted to tell you I have truly enjoyed writing this blog. It has been an amazing journey of creative expression! As an artist, this blog has inspired me to be brave with my creations. As a lifelong doll collector this blog has enabled me to live out my dream of never completely growing up.
     In my time writing this blog, formerly titled "lissy will never grow up", I have been able to express my passion for dolls, history, reading, and creativity to the world. It has been an immeasurable gift to be able to share this with you and connect with your passions.
     I was born with a deeply rooted desire to create beautiful works of art which invoke Love, Joy, and Peace in Harmony. This blog, in unexplainable ways, has encouraged me to fulfill that desire.
     Inside of you there is a spirit of a younger you who has walked everyday of your life wearing your shoes. I don't think it is fair to "your-true-self" to let go of that person you once were. That is why I love these dolls. They were my companions when I was just a little girl, and because I have been a doll lover since I was born I just can't seem to "grow-out-of" the joy I receive when playing with my treasured American Girl Dolls. But, they are not just beautiful dolls or childhood companions, they encouraged me to read when reading was an excruciating chore for me. They were my heroes when their books revealed they were more than my playthings, they were characters that I admired with attributes I still strive to have.
     This is why they still sit in my bedroom. This is why they still get outfit changes regularly. This is why I write about them, and this is why it fills me with "felicity" to let my
BRAVE, FREE-SPIRITED, RED-HEADED HERO
take on the next chapter of this blog. It seems a perfect fit... almost as if she was my alter ego.
     Readers, thank you for giving me this outlet to play, create, and express. And thank you for having faith in my Felicity to freely express herself and share her story.

~~~~~
Little Lissie,
     One-thousand thanks for keeping my blog alive! And I promise that even though I have to do grown up things
lissy will never grow up.
Lovingly, Joyfully, Peacefully Yours,
Lissy XO
When Lissy asked if I would be whiling to help her keep up this blog I thought it would be fun, but after receiving this letter I feel honored and humbled to be the one to take on a new chapter for this blog, with a new title: Freely Felicity.
