one of my super favoritest friends (we jokingly say we share a brain) has an original pleasant company felicity so she brought her over and her sister's molly for a play date. we couldn't believe how different our felcitys looked! obvy they have different meet dresses and mine has pierced ears...duh. but also their hair is totes different, hers has redder hair and her hairline is lower, which my boyfriend pointed out randomly enough hahaha...he's such a good sport about my ag obsession :) loves it! they also have slight differences in the face mold. look at the area around their eyes hers has smaller eye sockets and hers has a little bit wider face. also mine has a longer neck. then of course there is some aging differences since hers is like over 15 years old and mine is 1 year old haha... so she accidentally brushed out felicity's curly tendrils oops, and her hair got a wee bit tangley...eek, and her eye brows and lips are faded...sad. if you asked the velveteen rabbit he'd say hers is more "real" :)
regardless they are equally beautiful and very special!
here is a close up look. aren't they the sweetest things!! i'm such a felicity fan!
and here are all the girls, mine were embarrassed to still be in holiday clothes but i'm taking care of that tonight! photos coming soon.
btw, i have a new appreciation for molly now. she is so cute in person. i mean i've seen her in the store and all but to actually hold her and play with her makes me some how like her better. huh, weird. mostly i just really like her coloring: the soft dull eyes and american brown hair, it's cute.
omigosh i can't stand how stinkin' cute they are!!
i l.o.v.e. american girl dolls!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for showing the differences in the Felicity doll face molds! I was wondering about that. I have the older Felicity.
ReplyDeletethat's so cool! did you get her when american girl was pleasant company or mattle? i wonder if there is even a difference between them... huh i bet there is. thanks for commenting claire :)
DeleteI'm not sure about my doll. It says ''Pleasant Company" on her neck. Do you know which one that is? Claire
ReplyDeleteclaire, if you go to the american girl website and look at their "about us" page it has a timeline of all the important events throughout their history. it says that mattle took over in 1998 and that they changed the name to american girl inc in 2004. soooo if you know when you got felicity that could tell you.
Deletealso i love to look at this site:

it is not very up to date but it has lots of fun things to see and learn if you are an american girl collector. she talks about how felicity was temporarily unavailable but came back. when she came back she was sold in a different "meet dress" what dress did yours come in?
They are so cute! :) They look so different even though they are the same doll. :D
