my girls had a great time during their birthday
sleepover with deedee, emily, kit, and julie. however, all along i had more planned for them, hehehe!!
i tricked them and told them to put on their birthday outfits because i wanted to do a formal birthday photo shoot! so they got all gussied up and posed for a couple pictures. then i said they could take a break. while i stepped out, pretending to get more batteries for my camera, they came into the living room to find the dining room table full of goodies!!
SURPRISE!!!!!!!!
each table setting had a cup of m&ms with a birthday sign, a strawberry candy, a bobble head toy animal, and a pastry appetizer.
the main course was a group fav of spaghetti and salad.
i know they enjoyed it because they helped themselves to seconds and even thirds!!
in my family no one is a good singer so we all sing "happy birthday" as loud and off key as possible-- it's good fun!! my girls have picked up on this ridiculous tradition and sang happy birthday to each other so wildly i thought my neighbors might complain! but that's okay, you can be as crazy as you want on your birthday!
make a wish!!......
...because now it's time for presents!!
i sliced up the cake and the girls took turns opening their gifts from me.
kirsten went first because, well.... see for yourself...
yeap! we got another furry friend! now bennett won't be the only pet in the house. kirsten loves animals especially kittens! they instantly bonded and kirsten said she wanted to name her missy meowmeow because my mom sometimes calls me missy moomoo just to be silly. plus, missy meowmeow reminded kirsten of her other gray cat named missy.
next samantha opened her's.
samantha is my little artist so i got her a canvas, a new fresh paint pallet, a personalised sketchbook, and her treasure tote. she was so happy and already had ideas flowing... just like an artist! we are needing
something over the buffet in the dining room so she said she would love to use the canvas to paint a picture for us to hang there!!
then it was molly's turn.
just what she wished for!!!!!! her very own ag doll of her bff emily! "it looks just like her! now when i'm missing my bff i can just hug and squeeze my emily doll to feel better!" she exclaimed.
rebecca danced her way up to the packages and opened her's.
rebecca is very spiritual: strong in her jewish roots as well as basking in the joy of her new found christian faith. i knew she would enjoy having her own bible to read. she had a great idea of doing a weekly bible verse on our blog! be looking for that in the near future! she also got a porcelain cupie doll like her brother won for her at coney island.
up next was felicity.
she got a strawberry shortcake doll and a mini panda. two things that she has a special place for in her heart: fellow red heads and endangered animals.
lastly, was miss addy walker, the future educator!
if addy isn't in school she is playing school! therefore, i was sure she would love this american girl school kit. this kit is outstanding! there are soooo many little things included and the book has lots of fun ideas! we can't wait to set up a school; i'm sure there will be many school posts on our blog from miss walker's school room!
what does every girl want to do after opening presents?
PLAY WITH THEM, OF COURSE!!!
rebecca searched for the perfect bible verse to feature on our first bible verse of the week post with her cupie doll nestled in her arms. samantha brainstormed and sketched ideas for her painting she will be making for over the buffet.
felicity and molly played with their new dolls and toys together.
kirsten snuggled with missy meowmeow while addy sorted out and set up all her school supplies.
it just doesn't get much better than this!
i loooove spoiling my beautiful girls!!
