Christmas Eve Part I: The BFFs

We had such a fun filled Christmas that I need to break it down into several parts.

To begin we have the BFFs at my mom's getting ready for a long Winter's nap on Christmas Eve:

 

 Molly read The Night Before Christmas as DeeDee, Emily, Caroline, and Felicity snuggled in close to listen to the story.

 

 

They hung up the stockings and set out milk and cookies for Santa and carrots and an apple for his reindeer.

 

 

Molly was too excited to sleep but her eyes were getting heavy. Bennett curled up under her arm and they drifted off. 

DeeDee and Emily were tucked in tight and fell fast asleep within seconds but Caroline had to keep peeking to see if Santa was coming.



It wasn't long before all four girls had visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads.



P.S. In case you were wondering where Felicity went; she slept with me in my room.:)



Winter Break Fun!

Winter Break has started and we are having so much fun in these last few days before CHRISTMAS!!!

 

Samantha and Rebecca have been doing some major Christmas shopping!

 

 

"Ugh, these bags are so heavy! I think we bought out all the shops in town, Rebecca!!"

 

"You might be right Sam HeHeHe! Let's put the bags up on my bed and sort out everything before the other girls get home."

 

 

"Wow this is a big pile of stuff! We must have spent a fortune!"

 

"Oh dear all we have left is one little coin!"

 

 

"OH MY! Well, it's okay. It was worth it and I can't wait to see our loved ones' faces when they open these gifts!" 

"Quick! I here Addy and Kirsten coming! We must hide these bags!"

 

 

Meanwhile Addy and Kirsten had been out sledding.

 

"That was so fun Addy!"

"Yes in deed! We were going so fast Kirsten!"

 

"Oh hi Lissy! You should have seen us!"

"Ya! Kirsten went first and I gave her a big push like this!"

 

"Uh-Huh, then we went down the hill together like this!"

 

 

"We went up and down that big hill so many times my legs are aching!"

"And my nose is frozen!"



"I've got an idea! Let's get into our warm cozy nighties and drink hot cocoa!"

 

Are you on Winter Break or do you get any days off for Christmas? How have you been spending your free time?

SNOW!!

I have been praying and wishing for snow and we finally got a little Winter storm!

It was mostly ice in my area but there was a nice little dusting of snow on top. It made my neighborhood look so pretty! And lucky for me it was my first day of Winter Break so I stayed inside all day in my pajamas! :)

 

 

I did, however, get bundled up to do a wintery group photo shoot with my girls.

It was a about time I made a new header photo since they were in their summer outfits in the previous one :) What do you think of my new one?

Baking with Addy

 This weekend I had a cookie exchange to go to and Addy wanted to help me bake my cookies (which aren't really cookies; they are S'more croissants, but whatever). I really like "semi-homemade" recipes and I found this fun idea on Pintrest which was coincidentally repined from Char Polanosky who runs the awesome website Doll Diaries.

This recipe was right my alley because it only takes a few ingredients, it's simple and quick, and they taste amazing!!

 All you really need is Pillsbury crescent rolls, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and I added cinnamon-sugar. 

First I unrolled the crescent rolls and Addy sprinkled on some cinnamon-sugar.

Next Addy dropped a small pile of chocolate chips... 

...and marshmallows on the dough. 

This is fun!! 

In the next step we rolled them up... it was a little tricky to keep everything stuffed inside and they do look a little weird (like mummies! lol)

Then we sprinkled a little more cinnamon-sugar on top.

We placed them on a cookie sheet and shaped them into a crescent and followed the crescent rolls' baking instructions printed on the package. 

While they are baking I'd like to take a minute to tell you why Addy's apron is so special to me. 

I got this apron when I was a little girl and it came in a set with a mini embroidery hoop and the thread and needle to embroider it yourself. My grandma ,Nanny, was fantastic at needlework and helped me to embroider the design on Addy's apron. To this day I have very vivid memories of sitting curled up next to her on the corner of her big couch watching her nimble little fingers delicately making the stitches. I can still hear her sweet voice telling me, "It is just as important to have good craftsmanship on the back as it is on the front because you see both sides." She gently guided me along the pattern except for the French knots. She said those were tricky and did them for me so they would be perfect :)

It is a precious little Pleasant Company product but the experience of making it with Nanny and knowing that some of those threads were put in place by her are what makes this apron one of my favorite AG pieces I own.

"DING!" Oh look the rolls are ready! Fat and golden... just right! 

 You can never have too much chocolate as far as I am concerned so we drizzled melted chocolate chips on top of the rolls.

To make them more festive and Christmasie for the cookie exchange Addy put some red,white, and green sprinkles on the chocolate drizzle. 

 Good team work Addy! Don't they look yummy!

A Christmas Tea

Being English, Emily loves tea parties of all kinds and insisted on having a Christmas Tea with their new tea set I painted!

It was a simple afternoon tea with the three girls at my mom's house plus they invited Molly.

DeeDee helped Emily set the table while Robert the Bear and Peter Rabbit sat by :)

When Molly got there she and DeeDee had a good laugh at their matching dresses!

"Wow! Molly you have fabulous taste!" Giggled DeeDee.

The girls enjoyed some tea and crumpets on their new dishes.

I painted these for my mom who loves to have dishes for all different occasions for her dolls. Shockingly she didn't have a Christmas set! However she did have the kit to paint your own. So she and I sat down last weekend and decided what/how we would paint the set in a Christmas theme.

Each plate has a different Christmas icon on it.

The cups all have holly both on the inside and outside of them.

 The tea pot itself has a nativity on one side and a Christmas tree on the other.

We had a lot of fun designing and painting them together.

After the girls had eaten enough they took their teacups to the living room and relaxed around the silver tinsel tree with their pets.
