I GOT JULIE!!

I'M SO EXCITED! I'M SO EXCITED!
I went to the AG Place to see the new Beforever line and guess what I got a NEW DOLL!!!
I picked Julie! Throughout all of my time traveling I've gotten to see a lot of cool time periods and one of my favorites is the 1970s. I loved how colorful everything was and I loved that it was finally really becoming acceptable for girls to do and wear boyish things.
Look how pretty and bright she is! QUICK!... Let's take her out!
I'm going to start reading her book today... From what I've heard, Julie is going to be my kind of girl! It's so cool to think she lived 200 years after my time period but we still have so much in common!
Wow! I love her outfit, it's so cool! I think I will save my money and get the matching outfit so I can look this awesome!
I looooove her long silky hair!
I could brush her hair and play with it all day!!
I also have the AG doll version of my best friend from back home in 1775, Elizabeth. She is very happy to have some one to have a tea party with now.
Tea for two!! HeHeHe... Aren't dolls so fun!
I love my AG dolls so much! They fill me with so much joy!!
Are you a big AG fan too?
Which dolls do you have?
What do you think of the new Beforever line?
Lissy and  I are really sad they took out the illustrations and the "Looking Back" section at the end of the books. Otherwise, we think there are some pretty cool changes for the Historical Dolls.

Felicity Freely Takes Over

HEY FRIENDS!
Guess what I have taken over!!
If you are new to this blog you might not realize that it has just gone through some major changes.
It use to be run by Lissy, (she is my grown up friend who I live with) but now I have taken over the blog!!!

Since Lissy is a grown up she's gotten very busy doing boring grown up things and asked if I might be able to help her with our blog. I was more than happy to help because I love to take photos and write.

So let me start by telling you a little bit more about me. My name is Felicity Merriman but my friends call me Lissie just like "Lissy" my grown up friend but I spell it with an "ie" and she spells it with a "y".
I actually live in Virginia during 1775, however, I have a secret. I am able to time travel, but... that's a story for another day.
...any ways...
Back home there is a lot of scary stuff happening between us and the British so my parents thought it would be safer for me to live here with Lissy. Besides, I like it better in the future because there is so much cool technology, fun clothes, and I can freely be myself. So I travel back in time to visit my friends, family, and my horse Penny now and then, but I spend most of my time here in the future with Lissy and the other girls that live with her.

As you can probably guess I have a very exciting life with lots of adventures and I'm so excited to be able to tell you all about them here on my blog. Speaking of which I better get to work! I already have several post started!
Oh, and if you are someone who has been following us for a while, don't worry Lissy's other girls, are still here too and I will be writing about them as well. You can still see all the old posts that Lissy wrote in the archives in the sidebar.
TTYL!! :)

A Note from Lissy

I was playing in the woods back home in Virgina, year 1775, when I noticed a letter addressed to me at the foot of a tree.
I knew right away who it was from because this wasn't an ordinary tree. This tree is my portal for time traveling and sometimes Lissy and I send letters through it to each other.

I opened the envelop to find lovely stationary featuring a  beautiful portrait of me and inside it a photo of a young Lissy.
The letter was rather lengthy but I knew it was important because on the back of the envelop Lissy wrote "SHARE ON THE BLOG".
I read the letter word for word then knew what I needed to do next. It was time for me to start writing for the blog.
I went straight home to my Windsor writing chair and took out my quill and inkwell. I thought to myself, When I get back to the future... And my computer... I will copy Lissy's letter onto its own tab on the blog.
You can read Lissy's letter by opening the tab above labeled "A Note from Lissy".
Lissy recently asked if I would be whiling to help her keep up this blog. After reading this letter I am honored and humbled to be the one to take on a new chapter for this blog, formerly known as
lissy will never grow up.

Just wanted to say...

Hey y'all!
I just wanted to say a few things :)
So, if you are someone who has been following me for a while you may have noticed my decrease in new posts. It's sad but true. I wanted to reassure my readers and followers that I am still completely in love with AG and
I WILL NOT STOP POSTING ON MY BLOG!!

Yes, right now they are a lesser priority but they are happily set up in my bedroom, and patiently waiting for my next creative urge. My mom is still regularly redressing, posing, and photographing her dolls. Once she's got her Pinterest board full of her photos I'll post a link so you can see how awesome her photos are... she is quite good at it really!
So for now I wanted you to see my lovely little darlings in their natural habitat ;) I love them so much and they bring me joy even when I'm not playing with them or photographing them.

Thank you for viewing/reading; it means so much to me! I love that there are other people out there with this same quirky passion for dolls... especially my fellow adult doll collectors. :) Please be patient with me and I promise there are many more great things coming here at "Lissy Will Never Grow Up"
LUVS Y'ALL!

BFF Adventures: Labor Day

The unofficial end of Summer means one more day to live out those warm sunshiny moments of Summer freedom... poolside of course!!
Molly and I headed to my Mom's for a makeshift pool day with the BFFs. Now Mom has always dreamed of having a pool in her backyard, alas kiddie pools are all we ever had. The BFFs didn't mind, they were just happy to be celebrating Labor Day together in the sun.

After getting into their suits and grabbing their pool bags, they headed to the backyard.

The pool was small but the water was cool and refreshing! With the lawn chairs and towels laid out they could imagine themselves at a glamorous resort!
Everything was good and just right. They pretended Summer would never end. And in that moment it really felt like that could be true.

"So, Ruthie are you going to go scuba diving in our pool?" DeeDee asked chuckling.
Ruthie smirked back at DeeDee's sarcasm and sweetly turned her nose up and replied, "Why yes I am. I'm hoping to find a mermaid princess DeeDee!"
Then they all rolled back laughing with Ruthie.

"Hey Emily, remember when we got to go to the beach in Florida together?" Molly asked.
"Yes, of course, that was such a lovely trip; we made many wonderful memories."
In Caroline's old-fashioned modest ways she sat properly under the shade of her pretty parasol perched upon a whicker chair poolside. It was a perfect day to be outdoors.

"Hey guys I'm diving in!... Just teasing, I'm pretty sure there is no diving allowed!" said Anna while splashing around in the shallow water.
The sun smiled down on the jolly girls all day long as they basked in his rays.

Soon the girls would be back in school and deep into all the throws of studying and after school activities. But for now they had not a care in the world.

There in the sanctuary of the backyard surrounding a tiny pool these six best friends delighted in each others company. Their hearts and minds were full of happy thoughts and dreams of things to come as the season begin to change.

Did you enjoy your Labor Day?
Are you sad Summer is over or are you excited for Autumn?
I love the transition seasons, Spring and Autumn, they are so full of change and newness.
Speaking of which Lissy Will Never Grow Up will soon be going through some big changes. I'm ready to try something new here on my blog. So be looking forward to the new updates coming this Fall!

Red-headed Movie Night

One of mine and Felicity's favorite Disney movies is Brave and our most favorite Princesses is Merida! We love her fun and bold personality... and of course we are obsessed with her awesome red hair (we think red hair is always the coolest!). Sometimes Felicity kind of thinks she is Merida :)
We heard that Emily had never seen Brave and since she is herself a redhead we thought she ought to come over for a movie night!

I got the girls all set up with the necessities: PillowPets, soda-pop, candy, and popcorn.
Emily was already in love with our Merida doll and didn't let her go the whole night! We could already tell she was going to love this movie!

I pushed play and let the magic of Disney begin!

Emily loved the parts when Merida was a little girl.
Felicity and I agree the best part is when Merida races out of the castle walls riding Angus... but we love horses!

If you haven't seen Brave yet, we highly recommend you watch it this summer. I know everyone loves Frozen now, but Brave just does something special for us. :)
So what is your favorite Disney movie and princess?

BFF Adventures: Memorial Day

For Memorial Day the BFFs invited Kaya over.
To show them her appreciation, Kaya asked if she could perform a special Native American dance for them. Naturally they were more than excited to see her dance!

Secretly, Felicity and Molly choreographed their own routines to perform as well. Kaya, Felicity, and Molly had arranged an entire Memorial Day Show for the girls!

The three performers introduced themselves...

"Good evening Ladies and...umm...ladies. Today we will be giving you a patriotic performance to celebrate Memorial Day so sit back and enjoy!"

All eyes were glued to Kaya as she took center stage in her starting pose.

Kaya opened the show with spirit and grace, pounding her drum loud enough to make the girls energized and moved. A tough act to follow, really.

...But Felicity is bold enough to do the job. Felicity had become very interested in Hawaii after doing a Social Studies report on the islands. So she wanted to do a hula dance for her performance. It was beautiful and lovely.

Nobody could have finished the show better than our very own Patriotic Princess Molly! She tapped her little heart out and had all the girls clapping and dancing along with her!

When the girls each performed they handed out pinwheels and flags to their audience.

Just when we thought we had all the fun and surprises we could handle Grammy chimed in.
"I have a surprise too," She said as she pulled a large AG bag from the closet!

WHAT COULD IT BE!!!!????

IIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT'SSS RUTHIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
YIPPEEEEEE!!!

Mom and I have been in love with Ruthie since she came out and Mom finally broke down and got her. When we found out AG was retiring the Best Friends we were heartbroken. It was only a matter of time before Ruthie had to come home with us.

We are so happy to have her join our BFF family. You will be seeing more of her really soon!
